The Queenstown Girls’ Sports Club held a very successful dance in the Royal Cafe on Saturday evening. Competitions were won by Mrs O. Wheatley and J. Royds, jun. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs T. Donaldson (piano) and Mr P. Bennetts (drums). The teams to represent Queenstown in the competition at Dunedin on September 20 will be chosen by the selectors, Mrs L. Forde and Mr T. J. Donaldson, on Monday evening. Last Wednesday evening a very interesting and enthusiastic practice was held, the girls showing improved form and keenness. A good attendance is requested for next Wednesday evening, when the No. 1 team will play the No. 2 team. The selected teams to visit Dunedin will leave Queenstown by bus on Friday evening, the 19th inst., at 9 o’clock.
