Wanaka Team Wins

Wanaka Rugby football team beat Hcrefords in a match for the Beerfurly Shield, trophy designed by a local resident, at the Recreation Grounds on Saturday last week. Mr H. Harris, Wanaka, was referee. The game drew a good crowd, and proved-an interesting one. The Wanaka’ team comprised A and B Grade players. Herefords included players from Wanaka Station and Mount Aspiring. Some of these latter had not played for a considerable time, but bore themselves manfully nevertheless, and the crowd enjoyed the display. '
