ARROWTOWN BOWLING CLUB

Annual Meeting

There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Arrowtown Bowling Club held in the pavilion on Monday of last week.. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr D. H. Coekburn; president, Mr G. Ogilvie; vice-president, Mr E. J. Saunders; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. B. Gibb; committee —Messrs Ogilvie, Saunders, Gibb, Snell, E. L. Thompson, Murphy, Erridgc, Stapp, and Dalrymplc; green secretaries, Messrs E. J. Saunders and J. W. Reed; ranger, Mr 'D. Thompson; selector, Mr J. W. Reed; delegate, Mr G. Ogilvie; greenkeeper, Mr A. Erridgc. Two new members were Messrs W. Hore and W. M. Dickson. It was decided to send letters of appreciation to Mr Burt for his work in repairing the mower; to Mr Wood for the donation of a score board;and to Dr Austin for his services as delegate to the Otago Central Bowling Centre. It was proposed by Mr E. L. Thompson and seconded by Mr L. Stapp that all presidents’ names since the club was re-formed be placed on an honours board. It was proposed by Mr E. J. Saunders and seconded by Mr W, B. Gibb that a singles champion honours board be begun for the 1947-48 season. Mr Jas. Shaw moved and Mr W. B. Gibb seconded that the club apply to the Arrowtown Borough Council for a revision of rental charges. Before the meeting concluded the past president, Mr J. Dalrymplc, on behalf of the club, presented Mr A. Erridgc with a utility dinner set in recognition of his services to the club.
