Wakatipu Sub-union Meeting

The secretary of the Wakatipu District Footbal Sub-union (Mr W. J. Hore) read a letter from the Southland Union at the monthly meeting, held on Monday, 4th inst., advising that the Wakatipu share of Country Day profits amounted to £O2 Os lOd. Members present felt gratified over the’ financial return received.

The secretary of the Arrowtown Club advised that Air F. King had been appointed as an Arrowtown delegate on the sub-union in place of Air E. B. Taylor, who was leaving- the district.

It was agreed to finish the competition this round, Queenstown and Arrowtown having to meet twice, one home game and one away.

The secretary advised of representative games to be played in September, a visit from the Riverton Club, the Pioneer Club '(Second Grade), Gore, Balfour Club, and a match between a Wakatipu representative team and the holders of the Sports Trust Cup. It was left in the hands of the secretary to make suitable arrangements to work in visiting teams during* September. It was resolved that the coach, Air J. S. Brown, select a number of players with a view to submitting a representative team, and that a series of practices be held. The first practice was set down for Sunday morning, the 17th inst., at the Country ground. Permission was granted to Air W. Hayward to enter a team of players under 17 years of age at the seven-a-side tournament, to be held at Alexandra on August 24.

It was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Hayward and Kitto, that, if a suitable date is available, the secretary call a special meeting to decide upon a local seven-a-side tournament.

It was agreed that one representative game be played at Arrowtown. The secretary was instructed to order three footballs, and that one each be giyen to the Queenstown School, Queens‘town Convent, and the _ Arrowtown School.

Accounts amounting to £0 10s were passed for payment. Those present at the meeting were Air C. AI. Inglis ' (president), Alessrs J. S. Brown, W. K. Hayward, F. Sanders and C. Kitto, and the secretary, Air W. J. Hore.
