Rugby Football Matches '«EVv • „ Clyde and Bannockburn Beaten Wanaka teams beat both the Clyde B team and the Bannockburn A team in Rugby matches played at Wanaka last Saturday. The Wanaka B team defeated Clyde B team by 12 points to 9. Wanaka’s score comprised four tries by G. Scaife (2), D. McLennan and J. Walsh. Clyde’s score was made up of two penalty goals and a try. Mr Westland, Hawea, acted as referee. In the A grade match Wanaka defeated Bannockburn by 19 points to 7. Wanaka’s score was comprised of five tries by T. Anderson (2), N. May (2), and D. Bretherton. Two were converted by A. Scaife and T. Watkins. Bannockburn’s score was comprised of a field goal and a try. Mr H. Harris, Wanaka, acted as referee. Both games were fast and interesting, but unfortunately in the B grade match one of the Clyde players received an injury and had to leave the field.
