Good Attendance of

Members

Miss G. Jopp presided over a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Hawea branch of the W.D.F.F. held at Hawea on Tuesday, July 29. After routine business had been completed a paper on the drying Of fruits was read by Mrs D. Kane and Mrs T. Gunn.. The Baking Competition for a loaf, “Nut or Other,” was won by Miss M. Blair. Mrs T. Allison was second. Another competition was won by Mesdames T. Gunn and J. Smith. The prize for the most points for the year’s baking competitions was won by Mrs W. Studholme and Miss M. Blair. Mrs T. Allison was third. Three members of the branch who are leaving the district —Mesdames G. Hall, J. Rowley, and G. Smith —were farewelled. Mesdames J. Kane and T. Gunn and Miss M. Kane were hostesses for the afternoon.
