BIBLE SOCIETY MEETING

Record Collections

A record amount had been collected during the year, it was reported at a meeting of collectors for the Bible Society of Otago and Southland held at Queenstown on Tuesday, July 29. The collectors presented their books and their annual statement, together with the money collected.. The various amounts, including £3 l()s received from Mrs D. Wylie, the collector for Glenorchy district, and £3 10s sent in by Mrs John Mackenzie, Walter Peak, resulted in a total of £4J l>eing sent forward to the treasurer at head office in Dunedin. This amount is a record most gratifying to the collectors and for which they and the board wish to express their thanks and appreciation for the kindly interest shown in all parts of the Wakatipu area in the work of the Bible Society.

Those present at the meeting were: — Miss M. Salmoml secretary, Mesdaines Hales, D. Grant, Miss Earlancl and Mr H. Sew Hoy. Miss collector for the Frankton area was unable to be present.
