Postman’s Puzzles.
Among freak envelopes and parcel wrappers arriving in London recently there were letters with foreign stamps, with the recipient’s name but no address, and full address but no name.
One parcel was inscribed: “21 want you to ‘deliver this at the fourth door down in Peter Street, I have forgotten the number, but you should walk from west to east and it is just opposite the park gates. The house has a very nice garden.” The parcel was duly delivered. A thoughtful instruction appeared on an envelope addressed to the Highlands: “Don’t trouble to deliver if mountain path snow-covered.’ 1 Heat.
