Athol. * * * The spell of mild weather* experienced over the last two weeks ended on Thursday with heavy rain. This was followed on Friday by a light fall of snow of a depth of 34 inches on the low country. The snow should improve skiing conditions as the mild rain had partially cleared the snow from the skigrounds.
