General Rate 1947-8
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due Application having been given in the Lake County Mail of its intention to Strike at this meeting held on the 3rd day of JULY, 1947, under Section 78 to 80, both inclusive, of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1920, and under Section 48 to 61, both inclusive, of the RatingAct, 1908, and all amendments thereto, a General Rate for the year ending 31st March, 1948, and also the required advertisement of the adopted Reeeipts and Expenditure having been made, the Council doth order to make a General Rate of Two Shillings and Three Pence (2s 3d) in thei f upon all Rateable Properties appearing on the Valuation Roll in force for the time being and such rate shall be payable in one sum on the First Hay of AUGUST, 1947, at the Town Clerk’s Office, Justice Department Buildings, Ballarat street, Queenstown, between the hours of 10 o’clock in the forenoon and 4 o’clock in the afternoon, on all office days. C. M. INGLIS, Treasurer. Dated this 3rd Day of July, 1947. The following Special Rates will be levied: — Water Rate, Id in the £, minimum of 10s. Conversion Loan, 3d in the f Drainage Redemption Loan, Is in £. Ashes and Refuse Removal, 14s each. C. M. INGLIS, Treasurer.
