Miss Peterson, Southland, is the guest of Mr and Mrs W. R. Hume, “ Wyuna Station.” Nurse Pat Seott and Mr Murray Scott, both of Merton, have been the guests of Mr A. W. Scott, “ Temple Peak Station.” Miss Elfin Shaw was the guest of the McKenzie family, “ Mt. Nicholas Station,” over the week-end. Miss Roberts, Dunedin, has returned home. Mrs Clack is at present in Invcrcar-. gill. Mr J. Forbes is still an inmate of Frankton Hospital. Mrs Thornton and Leslie Matheson have returned home. Mr and Mrs Cassells, Southland, have recently been the guests of Mr and Mrs I. Bryant, Kinloch. Mr D. Badcock, Queenstown, for a few days recently was the guest of Mr and Mrs L. Smith, 'Glenorchy, and Miami Mrs R. A. Bryant, Kinloch. Mr and Mrs L. Veint, “ Paradise House,” have returned from Queenstown, where they spent a few days. Mr J. Cornish, Jnr., has returned home. Messrs Reg. and Jim Hume have returned from a holiday spent in Dunedin. Mr Alan Reid,. Suva, spent a short holiday with his parents recently. Mr H. Matheson, Dunedin, recently spent a week-end at Glenorchy. Mrs Alexandra, Dunedin, has returned home. Mr and Mrs L. Groves, “ Routeburn Valley Station,” recently spent a few days with Mr and Mrs T. Thomson, “ Mt. Earnslaw Station.” Mr Ron Stevenson, Lumsden, was a. recent guest, at the “ Mt. Earnslaw Hotel.” Mr S. Vernon, Dunedin, spent a few days/fvith his parents recently. ,‘lle 1 many friends of Mr and Mrs Lees, former residents of Glenorchy, will be pleased to learn that their son, Bob, has gained his 5.1.-M.E. and also his third Marine Engineer’s Certificate. He has now sailed on the “ Wairata ” for Raratonga, Tahiti and Los Angeles. A trial basketball game held by the young people in the Public Hall recently attracted an enthusiastic crowd. It, is to be hoped that they will be able to form a team.
