DRAMA CIRCLE FORMED
Assistance from W.E.A. Lecturer
A meeting convened by the Girls’ Sports Club with the object of starting a Drama Circle in Queenstown was held on Friday evening last, when 15 supporters were present. Mr George Worthington, on loan from Canterbury College to the W.E.A. of Otago University, was present, and spoke about his plans if such a circle was formed in Queenstown. Mr E. R. Hopwood, president of the Sports Club, welcomed him to the town.
It was decided by the meeting that a circle should be formed and Mr Worthington stated that he would be pleased to visit Queenstown weekly in order to train the members. He read over a couple of plays which he suggested might be staged by the circle. It is hoped to stage an evening of plays towards the end of September,
