CAMPING GROUND

Charges Increased

The _ Queenstown Borough Council gave full support to a motion brought forward - by his Worship the Mayor and Cr Thompson at its meeting last 'week increasing the charges for the use of the camping ground. The motion read as follows: —“That as from August 1, 1947, the following shall be the charges for camping fees: —5s per day per site or 17s 6d per week, .with a concession to A.A. members reducing the charge to 4s per day or 15s per week.” Speaking to the motion Cr Thompson, chairman of the CampingGround Committee, stated that these charges had been arrived at by the Camping Ground Committee, and would do away with the necessity of the caretaker having to hand out keys for shower baths, etc., and that all amenities on the ground would be free.
