The author, Florrie Hogarth du Grouchy, lias recorded many interesting facts about early life in Queenstown. One of the most interesting, under the heading “ The Lake that Breathes,” tells of the old Maori legend of why Wakatipu breathes and is calm. The early gold rush days are referred lo and some interesting details are related about those days. Seven illustrations give effective display to the book which was printed by the Budget Printing Co., Ltd., Dunedin. Our acknowledgments to the author for our copy.
