FOOTBALL NOTES

By Scrum-Half Arrowtown has some promising young players and under coach C. Kitto, should develop into a good team later in the season. K. Saunders improves in every game. B. Oakes, made quite a good showing at half-hack, “ Bluey,” concentrate on a good long pass if you are going to keep this position. Veteran Joe Murdoch, played a useful game as a loose forward for Arrow on Saturday. Les Tnder, is going great guns this year, and is hooking better than ever. What was wrong with the Wakatipu selector in dropping Les in the Wakatipu side on Saturday? Bill Anderson, is shaping well hut has a tendency to run a little too far. L. Inder and Ross Gray, worked well in the pack for Queenstown. T. Luckie and A. Sanders, played their' best game to date on Saturday. Garth Lonsdale, showed a lot of pace and determination for a youngster, and should develop into a first-class wing. It was pleasing to see Rusty Anderson, turning out for Queenstown, he seems to give the team extra confidence.
