GIFT EVENING
The Anglican gift evening on Wednesday, June- 4, was a, most enjoyable a.Talr and a sneeena in every way. The
opening was spent with dancing for the young people, it being interspersed with a number of items given by the following:—Songs, Mrs G. Buxton, “ The Old Refrain, ” and “ Open Your Windows to the Morn ”; Eev. P. C. Will inms, “Hail Caledonia” and “Believe Me if all Those Endearing Young ■Charms"; Cornet solos, Mr Garth Lonsdale, “ I’ll Walk Beside You ” and % “ Pose of Tralee Euphonium solos, Mr P. Grant, “ Tim Old Rustic Bridge ” and “In Happy Moments.” The Rev. and Mrs Williams, appropiately dressed for the part, gave a most enjoyable rendering of “ The Hole in the Bucket.” The accompanists were Misses IST. McAlister and J. Hunter. Miss McAlister was also the accompanist for community singing and the Manning. After a most enjoyable supper the singing of “Auld Lang Sync” brought the evening to a close.
