Annual Meeting

The following transfers for local hotels wore granted at the annual meeting of the Wallace Licensing Committee held at Riverton on June 3; —Mountaineer Hotel, Queenstown. C. Young to A. L. Young; Eichardt’s Hotel, Queenstown, J. H. Thomson to J. JByrne.

Tim transfer of an accommodation license for the Welcome Home Hotel, Long Gully, from James Hood to Sarah Lewis, was granted.

Applications for the issue of publicans’ licenses were granted as follows: The Central Hotel, Arrowtown, W. M. Dickson; Lake Wakatipu Hotel, Kingston, M. S. deC'lifford; Mcßride’s Hotel, Queenstown, E. H. McNeill; Eichardt s Hotel, Queenstown, J. J. Byrne; Mountaineer Hotel, Queenstown, A. L. Young; Junction Hotel, Arthurs Point, H. A. L. Adams.

The following renewals of publicans’ licenses were granted: —White Star Hotel. Queenstown, J. E. Home; Royal Oak Hotel, Arrowtown, L. C. Stapp; and renewals of accommodation licenses ,p er ry Hotel, Lower Shotover, W. G. V. Gm-kin; Garston Hotel, Garston, W. A. Ayers.

The police stated that they were cpiite satisfied with the general conduct ohotels in Wallace, considerable alteration work was bemg done at Eichardt’s Hotel. Queenstown. Dangerous masonry was being removed and other work was in hand, also the licensee o r the Central Hotel, Arrowtown, Ln"w what he had to do and had abandoned a rabbiting block.
