PRE-PARLIAMENT CONFERENCE
The Lake County Council has been asked to appoint a delegate to attend a Conference of Members of Parliament and Representatives of Local Bodies to be held in Invercargill on sth June next. Conferences of this nature were held in pre-war years with a view to affording local body members an opportunity of getting in close touch with members of Parliament, so that local questions affecting their interests could be more effectively brought forward prior to the session.
