AWAROA CLUB
The official opening took place last Saturday atternoon. There was a good attendance of bowlers and the public. Before declaring the greens open, Mr Coutts (green president) addressed a few remarks to those present. He said the club was steadily increasing in membership, and they ail looked forward to pleasant gatherings during the coming
season. He paid a tribute to the late Mr
D. Stewart, who had done much towards getting the club established. It was ? hoped to shortly add a croquet lawq and'he offered a guinea subscription as a start towards expenses. . .. The ladies served out afternoon tea to

The following games were played djiring the afternoon, "skips" only being mentioned:— Coutts v. Ellett, 27—25 ; Hill v. Fastier, 21—14; Constable v. Cullens, 13 — 22*; \ v Aitkenhead v. Dwerryhouse, 16—18; R. / 'Smith v. Mouat, 25—22; Stanaway v. Cooper, 18—20.
