KAUKAPAKAPA

'"Mulisaich" was the scene of a large "at-home" on 27th ult., given by Mrs Robt. Drinnan and Mrs Scurrali. It took the form of a " «ift tea," on behalf of the bazaar being held by the Church <-f England Ladies' Guild here on Nov. 18. Very many pretty and useful gifts were received, as well as some welcome additions to the funds. The rooms were pretty with spring flowers, and there were several very interesting and amusing competitions, Musical items made the time pass pleasantly, and the afternoon concluded with y For they are jolly good fellows" (in honour of the hostesses) and the National Anthem.

The local cricket club held a very successful card and .dance evening last Friday. Mrs Parker (of Wainui) won the ladies' prize, and Mr K. Drinnan the gentlemen's. Mr Cantling (captain of the club) brought a lorry-ful of people from Wainui, and members of the Helensville club were also present. -
