J. JONES' MARKET REPORT. ! The market this wef-k (ending April 16) has been heavily supplied with most lines. Potatoes have been coining forward in heavy supply, and for any of good quality the prices are firm. Inferiors are hard to quit at low values. Onions. — The market, is ■ absolutely glutted with these, and prices have fallen considerably. We had heavy pennings of poultry at last auction, and values were unchanged. j Good quality class were in strong dej mand. We penned about 350 of all classes and prices for well forward birds ruled | high, but poorer class neglected. I Pigs are coming forward in heavy supply, and prices are exceptionally low; i in fact they are hard to quit at any price. j Butter and eggs are selling well. I Fruit—We have had an exceptionally j heavy consignment, and prices are a | shade easier. Good classes selling well. Lemons firmer. The grain market has steadied, and values are about the same. We quote :— Poultry—Hens, prime 6s to 7s 4d, good !5s to 5s gd, small 3s to 4s ; roosters, extra heovy 7s to 8s 9d, good 6s to 6s 9d, small 4s to ss, cockerels 2s Gd to 3s ; ducks 5s to 7s 4d, drakes 4s to (is 3d; turkeys, gobbleis 11s to 17s, hens 6s 6d to 10s 3d. j Pullets. White Leghorns 7s to 12s ; Black Orpingtons 7s to J4s 6d. Pigs—Weavers 4s to 6s, stores 9s to 14s. • j Produce—Potatoes, prime 7s to 3s, I Southern 7s 6d to 9s, local (poor) 4s to ss; onions 6s to Bs. swedes £4 to £4 10s ton; pumpkins £5 to £7, melons 4s to 6s 6d . vegetables, current rates. Dairy Produce—Butter Is 8d to Is 9d, eggs 3s 3d to 8s 6d, bacon Is Id to Is 3d, honey 5d to S'/^d. Fruit—Apples, dessert choice 9s to 13s, good 6s to 7s 6d, cookers 7s 3d to 9s, passion fruit 4s to 5s Gd, lemons (choice), 13s to 16s, rough and coarse 5s to 7s, tomatoes 6s to 9s.

Grain—Maize 6s to 7s, wheat 10s 6d to 11s 6d, barley 6s, oats 4s 9d to 5s 3d, Algerian seed 4s 9d to 5s 3d, bran and sharps at current rates, chaff (local) £5 to £6 10s ton. Southern £9 to £10, linseed iss per cwt.
