SATURDAY'S GAMES

Ideal weather favoured the local bowling club this week for games on the green. The weekend saw four rinks going and some interesting games were participated in by members. The green is very keen at present, and even some of the old members found it hard to judge on the first half-dozen "heads." Following are the scores : — Duncan, Mouat, Spear, Sandin (s) 18, v. Carling, Hodge, Cuthbert, Stanaway (s) 19. Pairs : Leonard, Walters 15, v. Cohen, Ellett 27. Spear, Ellett, Cuthbert, Hill (s), 11, v. Garry, Duncan, Mouat, I Smith (s) 24. Several matches were played off for the Gold Star Competition, Hammond still retaining honours. The scores being:— Hammond 28, v. Leonard 12. Hill 6, v. Hammond 25. Hammond 21, v. Smith 12.
