KAUKAPAKAPA CLUB. The opening of the Kaukapakapa cricket pitch (concrete) took place last Saturday, a test match between the married and single men resulting in a win for the married men by 34. The scores, for one innings only, were married 93, single 59.- A few of the married men took a second innings, but the play straggled off after the first innings. The weather was rather boisterous, but nevertheless a good number of people turned out, and some dashes of good cricket were seen, the pitch playing fast and accurate.

Great credit is due to those responsible for the laying down of the pitch and especially to Mr T. Osbaldiston for his supervision of the work.

The ladies are to be congratulated on the way in which they catered for the inner man, and for the way they turned out on such a boisterous day. A ''five-hundred" card evening, to terminate with a dance, is being arranged for Friday night, November 19th. Supper will be provided. Proceeds are in aid of the Cricket Club. Any persons who purchased tickets for the concert which was to have been held on October Ist, will be admitted free.
