OLD COLONISTS' RE-UNION
[TO THE EDITOR]. Sir,—The old colonists' re-~ union, as reported in the papers, has been another successful gathering. But your correspondent would like to ask the old people who attend these functions if it is altogether to their satisfaction. The writer was present at the first re-union, held on third of February, 1899, and is still in possession of a photo of that gathering, which was a happy and social re-union ot old settlers. And one's memory still clings to that pleasant day, renewing old friendships, and making new ones. No prayers, no collection, but abundance of refreshments of all kinds. The writer attended a re-union a few years past, and found It was not at all like the first happy gathering. . There was no refreshments—not even a cup of tea, for the old people. But plenty of prayers and speeches, and the collection was not forgotten:—l am, etc., Old Colonist.
