WAITEMATA COUNTY ELECTION
ON NOVEMBER 10TH
Matters in connection with the forthcoming election of councillors are beginning to liven up and during this month ratepayers in the different centres will have the opportunity of hearing the candidates. On Monday, 18th inst., Mr H. Aitkenhead, the present chairman, and candidate for the Mairetahi riding will address ratepayers at Parakai Hall, at 8 p.m. On Wednesday, 20th inst., Mr Aitkenhead will speak at WoodhUl Hall. Mr James McLeod, a former member and chairman of the Council, is also contesting the Mairstahi riding, and will address the -ratepayers in f J U e course. The Kaukapakapa riding, which has lone: been represented by Mr F. Dye, is to lose his services, as Mr Dye has definitely decided to retire from local bodies' affairs. So far only one candidate has announced himself, in the person of Mr A. E. Diprose, a well-known and popular settler. Mr Diprose announces that he will address meetings of ratepayers at Makarau on Friday, October 15th, and Kaukapakapa on Monday, October 18th.
