The minutes of a meeting held on May 31st, 1920, when it was decided to form a club, were read and confirmed,

Accounts in connection with the recent benefit picture night were received. The total receipts were £17 0s 6d, and expenditure £5 13s, leaving a balance of £11 7s 6d.

The following officers were elected: Patron. Hon. J. G. Coates ; president, Mr J. Stewart; vice-presidents, Messrs Aitkenhead, Barnard, jun., Cuthbert, Dowling, Duncan, Garry, J. McLeod, L. McLeod, Keane, Rogers, Screaton, Dr. Meinhold, Rev.^ Bridge, with power to add ; secretary, Mr C. J. Claridge ; treasurer, Rev. P. Bridge; club captain, Mr F. W. Strange: grounds committee, Messrs Matheson, Johnson, Wallace, Fenner, Stewart, Cullen ; management committee to be comprised of grounds committee and club captain.

A good deal of discussion took place, over the question of finance. The construction of a concrete pitch, and the purchase of equipment, it is estimated, will cost over £40,. and the club is faced with the problem of raising this amount.

It was decided, on the motion of Mr Matheson, seconded by Mr Johnson, that the sub. be £1; members under 18 on November Ist, 10/-. All subs are due on that date.

Mr T. Johnson moved: That the headmaster of the Helensville school be asked to select three best all round players from his pupils, and that free membership bo given these boys.—Carried unanimously.

Those present thought this a very good idea to encourage cricket amongst the boys of school age.

It was decided to record in the minutes the thanks of the club to Mr F. W. Strange for his generous action in allowing a pitch to be constructed on his property. The question of forming a Kaipara Cricket Association was discussed. It was the general opinion that an Association should be formed, and a competition be held the coming season. It is expected that at least six teams will compete : Helensville, (2), Kaukapakapa, Makarau Glorit, and Kaipara Flats, and if possible, a team from Waimauku district.

Messrs Wallace and Matheson were appointed delegates to a conference proposed to be held re this matter on September 13th.

It was decided that the club's opening be fixed for Labour Day (October 25th).

Mr J. K. Stewart, manager of the Lyric Pitcures, offered the club a picture night on the same conditions as last, which offer was accepted with applause.

A working bee in connection with excavating the ground for a pitch will be held on Saturday afternoon next at % o'clock.

At the railway meeting on Monday night, a speaker said the boat on Regatta Day had taken six hours to get from Shelley Beach to Mt, Rex wharf, Another speaker retorted, in effect, that accidents would happen. The train on one occasion had stayed at Kumeu three hours [through blowing out a
