OIIR good friends from time to time have sent us many strange instances of "English as she is write." We have quite a collection of them in these offices, and some of the latest items that have arrived tempt us to quote them for the amusement of others. From Toronto an engineer who will probably here recognise himself sent us some time ago this letter of complaint received by his firm from an Italian purchaser. :— Canadian Pacific Railway Kogey's Creek, Ont., Mi6ter, September 10th. Dear Fren, I got the valve which I buy from you alrite but why for God sake you doan send me no handle. What's the use a the valve when she doan have no handel, i loose to me my customer sure thing you doan treete me rite, is my money not so good to you a.? the other fellow, i wate 10 days and my customer he holler for water like hell for the valve you know he is a hot summer now and the wind he no blow the mill, the valve ho got no handle, so what the Hell he goan a do you doan send me the handle pretty quick i send her back and i goan order some valve from Kraine Companies. Good by, Your fren, Carese La for. Sines, i rite these I find the goddam handle in the box excuse me.
