A. AND P. ASSOCIATION SOCIAL.
Taking advantage of ideal weather conditions and a brilliant moonlight night, a record crowd assembled at the Agricultural Hall last evening, when the Show Association held a social and euchre tournament, and presented the cups won at the last show to the respective winners. The progressive .- euchre attracted over sixty players, and the winners proved to be as follows : Ladies' first, Mrs W. Cullens; gentlemen's first, Mr Murphy. Consolation prizes were awarded Mrs J. Nicholls and Mr Robinson. A large number also indulged in the "light fantastic" during the evening, to the usual first-rate music rendered by the Malligau orchestra. Supper was provided by a large number of ladies who donated baskets of tasty and varied eatables. In spite of the large number present a quantity of provisions were left over, and these were auctioned to very good effect by Mr Harry Bradly. No doubt owing to the success of the evening, and perhaps becanse he has negotiated a few good "deals" lately the presipent (Mr J.
