LYRIC THEATRE At the Lyric Theatre on Saturday evening "Kent, the Fighting Man," featuring the ex-heavy-weight.chanjpion* of England, Bombardier Billy Wells, will be screened for the first time in HelensvM*^. The story is a well-costructed one and w' * "^ full of incident, sustaining the interest until the end. The Bombardier takes the V: : , part of a man-about-town, Westcrley, I:>t who, becoming involved by gambling ' losses, forges his father's name to a cheque for £2060. Cut adrift as a result, he suffers many vicissitudes in his endeavour to make good, meeting in his travels, Constance Ferdinand.a lady destined to play a big part in his life. While a member of a touring circus, Westerley's is nng-craft is discovered, and he becomes Kent, the fighting man, and wins fame as a pugilist. The climax is reached when he is pitted against Batten, a popular heavyweight, He wins, after a dogged encounter, the victory resulting in his : father relenting. Thus Kent, now Westterley, is re-instated, and the picture^ comes to a happy conclusion. Bombar- J* cuer Wdls will come as a surprise to 4&" most picture patrons as a film artist.
