— • = MARKET REPORT. MR J. JonevS, Auctioneer, New City Market, Auckland, report as follows : — This week the market has been very brisk and we have passed a very large volume of business through. POULTRY. —At to-day's sales was in short! supply and prices firmed considerable for any birds in the heavy supply. Good prime heavy hens, also pullets and forward hens realised good rates. Birds on the light side, also cockerels are lower. The market has been for the last two months heavily supplied with poultry therefore we expect from now on values will firm. PIGS. —A 6hade lower in value. VEGETABLES.—The market is heavily supplied with potatoes affected with the rust and for these sales are hard to effect. For prime clean lines, market is firm, though the Southern potatoes are now arriving in good supply and buyers are turning their attention to these, thus within a few weeks locals will be hard to sell.
