ADJOURNED MEETING
At the adjourned meeting on Friday, March 26th, the following matters were considered :— Ritliny Boundaries A special meeting was held re the Question of passing a special order altering the boundaries of Kumeu and Mairetahi Ridings, when the matter was discussed and a legal opinion from the county solicitors read.—Resolved that the riding boundaries remain as at present; the Chairman moved and Cr. Hatfield seconded. It was further resolved, on the. motion of Cr. Hatfield, seconded by Cr. Foley, to take no further action in the matter of the proposed special order altering the boundaries of Wainui, Kaukapakapa, Pukeatua, and Kumeu ridings. Resolved, on the motion of Cr. Laing, seconded by Cr. Foley, and on Cr. Dye's representation, that the produce of the general rate for Kaukapakapa Riding be increased by £118 only for the ensuing rating year. General The Engineer's adjourned report re the Whangaparaoa-Okura Road was considered. The. Engineer proposed that the road be taken from the western end of Arkle's Bay to the Wade River, and subject to no compensation being payable for land and fencing, the whole of the cqst to be borne by Mr Chamberlm .--Agreed to ,' Cr. Hatfield moved and Cr. S'inton seconded. The balance of the report, was adopted regarding the remainder of the road,
On the recommendation of the Engineer, it was resolved, on the motion of Cr. Laing, seconded by Cr. Hart, that the county seal be authorised to be affixed to a deed of indemnity regarding- the Whau bridge and the Woodhill sand stop matters, and that the Chairman and Clerk be authorised to sign the documents. The Engineer explained that these indemnities had to be given to the Minister of Lands and the Minister of Native Affairs respectively re authorisation of the work of constructing- the Whau bridge and the road at Woodhill. With regard to the Horse Shoe Bend deviation and Helensvills Town Board, it was resolved, on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Cr. Harrison, that consideration of the # matter be de--1 ferred sine die. On the motion of Cr. Harrison, resolved to write Messrs. Turner and others, Woodhill, and state that unless they stand by their previous offers made regarding the access road to their property, the matter would fall through, and to add that the cost would be greater than was previously estimated.
