LYRIC PICTURES

The greatest kangaroo drive in the history of Australia is a feature of " The Lure of the Bush," the magnificient picture of bush life to be seen at the Lyric on Tuesday next. Literally hundreds of 'roos of all sizes are*plainly seen in the wonderful round-up in which many of the finest horsemen and horsewomen in New South Wales took part. "Snowy" Baker enacts the role of a Jackeroo, who though born in the Australian bush, is brought up in luxury in England, and obliged by a wise parent's will to spend six months in the bush before deciding on a career. How he arrives at the station with his monocle, shining leggings, and riding breeches, to be the butt of the station hands, and how under the influence of a free, open life in the manmaking bush he discards each of them, and gets back to where he started, forms a fascinating story. Of course there ie a girl and a very delightful one* in the the person of Rita Tress, a real girl of the outdoors, whose fine acting and wonderful riding will prove a sensation. All lovers of the great outdoors—and their name is legion—will revel in the glorious bush scenes with which " The Lure of the Bush " abounds. The picture is redolent of the bush, and withal has a dash of sensation and romance that will grip the most blase picture fan. Charlie Chaplin in his very best production entitled il A Dog's Life " will also be screened. The Box Plan is at Ste w-a-rts Bakery, no extra charge for booking.
