HELENSVILLE v. GLORIT

The above match was played at Glorit on Saturday last, and on a two-innings game Helens-

ville won by 35 runs. A feature of the play was the improvement shown by the visiting players, and the keen interest taken in the game by both elevens. The bowling for both sides showed tip well, mainly owing to' the excellent asphalt pitch the Glorit .enthusiasts have put down.on Mr Harry Hooper's property. The outstanding feature of the days outing was the fine hospitality extended the visitors by the people of Glorit, who, though only a small community, make up in enthusiasm and warm heartedness what they lack in numbers. Practically every family in the district was represented, and all did their bit towards giving the visitors a good time. In returning thanks on behalf of the Helensville eleven, Mr N. Wallace spoke of the sporting spirit which animated the Glorit community and called for cheers, which were lustily given. Mr Harry Hooper replied expressing the pleasure it had given them to 'entertain and play the visitors, and hoped that it would be possible to play a return game.
