CATHOLIC BAZAAR QUEEN CARNIVAL.

The Helensville Queen Carnival promoters, in connection with the Catholic Bazaai, are holding a big entertainment in the Agricultural Hall on Monday evening. Attractions will include a beauty show, a " Trilby " auction, and euchre and dance. Admission will be gentlemen 1/6, ladies 1/, and children half price. Children entering for the beauty show will obtain free admission and be charged sixpence entrance fee.

A picture entertainment in aid of the Ohirangi and district queen (in connection with the Catholic Bazaar Queen Carnival) will be held in the Lyric Theatre on Tuesday evening next. The proprietor (Mr Jas. Stewart) is kindly donating the hall and films for this occasion, and the promoters hope to have a most successful evening. Tickets are now on sale.

The Catholic social on Monday evening last attracted a very large attendance, and the excellent prizes offered for the euchre tournament resulted in an unusually large number of card players taking part. The ladies' prize, an afternoon tea set, was won by Mn Curtis, and the gentlemen's prize, a goldmounted umbrella, was awarded to Mr Short. Consolation prizes were given to Miss Taylor"and Mr C. Carleton. Dancing wag indulged in until about 1 a.m., and an excellent supper was provided. Miss Martindale contributed two very much appreciated vocal items, playing her own accompaniments., and Master Curtis danced the. sailor's hornpipe, responding to an encore.
