"Womanhood : The Glory of a Nation," at the Lyric on Saturday evening, is a remarkable achievement. The picture conveys a warning as to the folly of a country not being prepared for war, and, embracing a fascinating love story, ends most dramatically. Alice Joyce as Mary Ward, meets Count Dario while travelling in Ruritania. He declares his love, and is promised his answer in America. On her way home Mary meets Paul Strong, and before the voyage ends they love each other. Word is received that Ruritania has declared war on United States, and New York has fallen. Events move with dramatic swiftness Mary becomes a spy at enemy headheadquarters, tilie meets Count Dario aj*ahi, and the enemy is finally defeated and driven awajr. Some spectacular war scenes are showu, an ocean of oil on fire being one of the foremost. ,
