ANOTHER RISE!
Time was (before the war) when a tea-shop lunch in Auckland, consisting of current scones or buns and butter, with a pot of tea, was supplied for sixpence. Then the price was raised to eightpence, and now it is to be tenpence. That is unless, of course, the proprietors of the tea-shops elect to stand the extra cost themselves, and refrain from passing it on to the customer, which would be a novel and altogether unprecedented method of meeting the case.
