A YOUNG RUFFIAN.
The little daughter of a lady residing in the suburb of Mount Albert when returning: from school recently was stopped by a young hooligan of about 14 years of age who said, v I am going to fire at you." He thereupon fired twice (accor liuoj to tho statement of the girl's mother) out a gun loaded with sma.ll stones. The girl was.hit on her arm and kaee-cap and has sustained serious injuries.. Mecfical
advice had to be sought, and it is feared that weeks will elapse before the girl will be able to walk. In drawing attention to this matter in the correspondence columns of a local daily paper, the mother of the injured girl contents herself by suggesting that the parents of the boy should destroy his gun before he does more serious mischief, Well, if that girl were my child I think I should take more energetic action. A cowardly young ruffian like that simply deserves horsewhipping, and its up to the decent boys of Mount Albert to hunt him out, and let him have it.
