HELENSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

THURSDAY. MARCH 13TH.

PRESENT Comrs. J. Stewart (chairman),' Jas. McLeod, H. Aitkenhead, W. ~ Coutts, 0. West, H. Thompson, T. D. Johnson, and the clerk (Mr W. F. Raisher). MINUTES ; Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE Outward correspondence was confirmed. CORNER LIGHT A letter was read from Mr HGraham, re lighting lamp at his corner. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Or. Thompson, it was decided to refer the matter to the Streets Committee, and that Mr Graham be asked his price for lighting during the next six months. OVERHANGING TREES Cr Coutts brought up the question of overhanging trees, and it was decided to notify offending occupiers. PARK WANTED / Cr Thompson said it was quite time there was a public park, and proposed, the Chairman seconding —That an advertisement be inserted in the local paper enquiring for land for the purpose either by gift or sale. WATER SUPPLY Cr. Aitkenhead brought forward the question of supply of fresh water to Parakai. He proposed and Cr. McLeod seconded —That the matter be referred to the Water and Drainage Committee to report on, and the whole Board form a special committee to meet Mr H. W. Wilson. TENDERS It was agreed to call fresh tenders for the Fire Brigade station. TOWN LIGHTING SCHEME Report from Mr Walker re electric lighting scheme placed before the meeting. The Chairman proposed and Cr. McLeod seconded — That the report be published in full in the local paper. The Chairman intimated that he would give notice at next Board meeting to call a meeting of ratepayers when the scheme. would be placed before them. .." AN IMPROVEMENT Tarring and sanding Mill Road on factory side and. front of Agricultural Hall w is agreed to as far as preseut upply of tar permits. REMOVAL OF RUBBISH On the motion of th<, Chairman seconded by Cr. Coutts, it was decided that the Board advertise that they will remove rubbish (clean) for one week from Thuisday, 20th inst., at 3/- per load.
