MARKET REPORT.
Mb J. Jones, Auctioneer,. Ne^p^ City Market,, Auckland, report as follows :— - The market this week has been exceptionally busy and a large volume of trade has been put > through. Values in most lines ' are about the same as last report. There is a large quantity of potatoes coming in and sales are good, though values a shade lower. The sale of grain andy grass seed was good and competition keen. Fruit was selling well. The grain market shows an easing tendency. We quote : — . POULTRY (4864 penned) Hens, prime 3s 6d to 4s 4d, * good 3s to 3s sd, small and light 2s to 2s 6d ; ducks, 2s 6d to 4s sd, drakes 2s to 3s 4d ; turkeys, hens 4s 9d to 6s, gobblers 8s 6d to 12s 9d ; roosters, prime up to 5s 6d, good 4s to 4s 6d, small 2s to 3s 5d.,,, FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, prime £7 to £7 10s, good £6 to £6 10s, small £3 10s to £4; pumpkins, 8s 6d; kumeras 16s to 19s 6d; onions, £9 to £10 10s. \ ! Dressed pigs, 7d to 8d lb, strong demand. DAIRY PRODUCE Butter, Is Id to Is 7d ; eggs, 2s to 2s 4d; hams and sides, Is 2d ; honey, slow of sale, 4d to s^d. FRUIT Apples, dessert 5s to 8s 6dj ceokers 4s to 6s ; pears 7s to 10s. 9d ; peaches 4s to 6s ; grapes 4s to 6s 9d; lemons 14s; tomatoes, 4s to 7s 9d. GRAIN Maize, 6s 6d to 7s 9d; wheat 7s 9d ; oats, 6s 9d ; bran 8s 9d; sharps, 10s 9d ; local chaff £8 at station; barley 7s 6d.
