Don't forget the Monster Patriotic Sports in the Show Ground next Saturday afternoon. Tenders are invited in this issue for the formation of a concrete swimming bath in the Helensville School grounds. The Parliamentary Bession is expected to open on October 24. A full report of the meeting of the Kaipara Branch of the Farmers' Union will be published in our next issua. The Bishop of Auckland requests that special thankgiving for the deliverance of Palestine be offered in all Churches throughout the Diocese on Sunday next, The Rev. L. J. Hodson will conduct his farewell service in the Helensville Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening vext. A cordial invitation is extended to all. A. report received from the Minister of Lands by the Waiternata County Council re the sand dunes on the West Coast is unavoidably held ever until next issue. Mr J. Carter has received a letter of thanks from the Rev. J. R. Burgin, and acknowledgement of receipt of £100 — Helensville's contribution towards the Church Army Huts Fuud. The lease of grazing rights of the Show Ground will be offered by public auction at the N.A. Farmers Co-op, sale on October Bth. The Hon. Paul states that the Labour Party in New Zealand will endeavor to have a general election held this years. Their chances don't look too good. A section of two acres at Te Pua has been recently purchashed by Mr Grey of Auckland, from Mr B. T. Bradly, for the purpose of starting a bee farm. There is every prospect of this venture being a success. The Postmaster notifies that the Eastern Extension Company advises that delay may be expected to inward, deferred telegrams owing to congestion of cable traffic, but that an improvement may be expected shortly. Mr S. L. P. Rimmer will conduct the usual monthly military memorial in the Lyric Theatre on Sunday afternoon next. All are cordially invited to attend. Mr Rimmer will also preach in the Helensville Methodist Church in the evening. The raising of money for the Helensville Queen is steadily forging ahead. Tickets are now out for a monster Art Union, (with no less than 18 prizes), and are only Is each. The drawing takes place at the Lyric Theatre on October 24. The money is needed for saving valuable lives, so don't hesitate.
