MARKET REPORT
MESSRS J. J. Jones, Auctioneers, City Market, Auckland, report as follows : — The market this week has been slightly on the quiet side, though values are in most lines about the same as last reports. Potatoes have this week landed in large supply, and values are lower. Poultry came forward in good supply and prices are very satisfactory. The grain market is firm all round. POULTRY Hens, choice heavy up to 5s 6d, good 4s to 4s 7d, smaller 3s to 3s 6d; ducks, 2s 6d to 3s 9d ; turkeys, gobblers 9s 6d to 15s, hens 6s to 8s ; roosters, 5s to 6s, good 4s 6d to 4s 9d; cockrells, 3s to 3s 6d; chickens, 6s to Is each ; ducklings, 6d to Is 6d. Pigs—Weaners, £1 to £1 12s 9d, stores £2 to £2 15s, FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern table £10 to £11 15s, Melbourne £10 10s to £12 ; swedes, 3s ; , pumpkins, 8s ; kumeras, 8s to 9s ; seed potatoes, Southern, Northern Stars and Gamekeepers £9 10s to £10 10s. DAIRY PRODUCE Butter, Is Id to Is 2d ; eggs, Is 2d to Is 3d; cheese, lid; ham, Is 2d ; sides, Is 2d ; honey, 6d to Bd, FRUIT Apples, dessert 9s 6d to 14s, cookers 10s to 12s; pears, 18s ; oranges, £1 to £1 ss. GRAIN Maize, 7s"6d to 7s 9d ; oats, 6s 2d ; bran, 8s 6d ; sharps, 10s 6d ; rice meal, 11s; Algergian seed oats, 6s 9d ; chaff, £14 10s to £15 10s.
