MESSRS J. J. Jones, Auctioneers, City Market, Auckland, report as follows : — The market this week has been good, and sales have been heavy. Potatoes and chaff market firm. Kumeras are a shade lower. Though onions have not risen much in price, and big quantities are coming forward, owing to the high price sales are much slower. > We quote : — POULTRY Hens, 3s to 4s 6d ; ducks, 3s to j 5s ; geese, 6s ; roosters, 4s to 6s 3d ; cockrells, 3s to 4s ; turkeys, gobblers 8s to 12s, hens 5s to 6s 9d ; chickens, Is to Is 3d. Pigs, 14s to £1 10s. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern £14 to £15, Southern seed, all varieties, £10 to £11 5s ; onions, 2d to 3^d ; pumpkins, £8 ; swedes, £3 to £4 ; kumeras, £8 to £8 10s. DAIRY PRODUCE Butter, Is Id to Is 2d ; eggs, Is 7d; cheese, lid; hams, Is 2d ; sides, Is 2^d; honey, 6d lb bulk. FRUIT Apples, dessert 8s to 12s 6d, cookers 7s 6d to lls 4d ; lemons prime 7s to 8s 6d; poor man's oranges, 7s to 9s. GRAIN Wheat, 7s 9d; oats, 6s 2d; maize, 7s 6d ; bran, £8 5s ; sharps £10 ; Algerian seed oats, 6s 6d to 7s 3d; barley, 6s lid; chaff, Southern £14 to £14 10s, local £10.
