Jackson, reported : — —Mairetahi Riding— The metalling of the main road between Wharepapa and Helensville has been completed in a very satisfactory manner, and is a creditable piece of work to the men who carried it out, despite the fact that the weather was wet for most of the time the work was in hand. The thanks of the Council are due to the local farmers who turned out to a man and gave their services voluntarily to unload and discharge the metal trains at Ohirangi. The work done by these farmers is unique in the history of the Council, and resulted in a saving of some hundreds of pounds of the Council's funds.
