MESSRS J. J. Jones, Auctioneers, City Market, Auckland, report as follows : — Poultry very large; supply came forward to slightly firmer market. Potatoes are easier. Fruit and egg market firm. Seed potatoes are now being asked for. Pigs, weaners are much firmer. We quote .— POULTRY Hens, prime 2s 6d to 3s 4d, good 2s 3d to 2s 6d, pullets according to size and bred 2s 6d to 6s 9d ; roosters, prime 3s 9d to 5s 4d, good, 3s 4d to 3s Bd, small cockrells Is 3d to Is lid ; ducks, 2s to 4s; a choice line of 36 ducks from Mangere realised 4s 9d to 5s 6d; geese, 5s 6d to 7s lid; turkeys, gobblers 8s to 14s, hens 4s to 7s. Pigs—Weaners, 7s to 16s 9d; stores, £1 to £19s. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern £9 to £10 10s, local £6 to £7 10 ; pumpkins, £4 to £5 ; citron melons, £3 10s to £4 10s ; kumeras, 7s to 8s 6d. DAIRY PRODUCE Butter, Is Id to Is 2d; eggs, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; bacon, Is Id; ham Is 2d ; cheese, lid. FRUIT' Apples, dessert 4s to 8s 9d, cookers 4s to 6s ; pears, 5s 6d to 8s ; passion fruit, 4s to 6s ; lemons 11s to 18s 6d. j GRAIN Maize, 7s lOd ; wheat, 7s 9d ; oats, 5s 8d; bran, £8 10s; rice meal, £10; Algerian oats, 6s 3d to 6s lOd ;chaff, £9 to £12 10s.
