OBSERVANCE IN HELENSVILLE. ANZAC' DAY, April 25th, was observed in Helensville as a halfholiday, and a commemoration service was held in the Lyric Theatre in the evening. Venables then read the 15th chapter of St. Paul's Espistle to the Corinthians, after which the Rev. L. J. Hodson gave a very able and stirring address, showing the reason for Anzac Day, and traversing the course of the war from the beginning. The hymn, " O God our Help in Ages Past." was then sung, and the Rev. Venables pronounced the benediction. A sbort musical programme was gone _ through, including items by Mr D. Rennie and Rev.
