DEPUTATION OF FISHERMEN

The local fishermen met the Minister of Public Health at the Terminus Hotel, in regard to the high price of benzine, which is making the fishing industry almost prohibitive. Mr Jas. Stewart introduced the deputation and spoke on on-their behalf, and said that at present the fishermen could not obtain more than' three cases of benzine at a time,, while hundreds of cases were being used by people attending the races and other pleasures. -"

Hon. G. W. Russell: In my opinion you fishermen are not getting a square deal, and I want to see the fishing industry put on a good footing. You using oil launches, which is a matter of necessity, and I am up against the extravagant use of benzine for pleasure. I will do my utmost for you, and place the matter before the proper authorities.
