LYRIC PICTURES.
—Friday Evening—
"The Hidden Scar "—Miss Ethel Clayton, who has so endeared herself to the patrons of the Lyric Theatre, has the leading role in this famous World Film production. It is a big, modern story of a great love stained by a previous sin. If your son was a minister, if he married an apparent widow, jif it transpired that woman's child was nameless, if you had brought him up to consider a fallen woman the lowest of God's creatures, what would you hava him do ? If your daughter had been wronged, if it was her only false step, if she proceeded to live a life of goodness' and charity, if, not knowing her past, the man she loves proposes to her, what would you have her do ? No one passes through life scar] ess and usually, when the twilight of life dawns upon us, we look upon our scars as medals, won in the battle of life. Miss Clayton's acting in this picture is something to remember, and the photography and scenery is also of a high standard. The supporting programme includes a ripping Keystone comedy entitled " The Tngboat Romeo."
—Saturday EveningEdith Storey and Antonio Moreno at the head of a strong cast appear in the clever and absolutely original Greater Vitagraph film romance " Aladdin from Broadway." The sparkling and intensely interesting story gives Edith/ Storey every opportunity to display her sweetly tomboyish charm, and in the Eastern wedding scenes, when she persists in peeping to see her handsome bridegroom, she is truly fascinating. Antonio Moreno as the young American who proceeds to Eastern lands to settle a wager and return with a pretty wife, is full of virile energy and dash, and contrives to look handsome in whatever costume. The desert scenes are wonderfully convincing, and the greater Vitagraph Company bids fair to eclipse all makers of pictures in the matter of superb photography; The action of the story is rapid, flitting from New York to Damascuß,.and there are plenty of thrills and plenty of moments when the. hero's life hangs in the balance. —Tuesday Evening— Miss Norma Talmadge, the Lyric's popular actress, will be seen in her latest and greatest success "The Social Secretary," a five-part drama by the Triangle Company. She is so sweet as a typiste that her employers bother her to death. As the Social Secretary she is so plain that her employer's son can't bear to look at her at breakfast. Gladden James plays opposite to the lovely Norma, and makes a sterling lover. The plot is ingenious and engrossing and full of surprises. The big Keystone comedy " She Loved a Sailor " is featured amongst the supports,
