THE WELLINGTON HOSTEL
" HOME FROM HOME."
There's not much fear of soldiers from this district being lonely when on week-end leave in Wellington, for the V.M.C.A. have provided a home-like hostel, and a no less homely recreation room for the boys from camp. An exceptionally large crowd of khaki-clad men taxed the accommodation of the Eed Triangle Hostel in Boulcott Street beyond the limit the other evening, when the place was besieged by soldiers in search of week-end lodgings. Profiting by many similar experiences the staff had prepared beds and shake-downs in every available corner all over the building, and managed to accommodate a record number of men, However, scores of the boys had to he sent to the Willis Street Y.M.CA. where all were eventually put up. The Bed Triangle Hostel is a veritable H home from home" with its cosy sitting, reading, •writing, music and dining rooms, and comfortable beds. In fact, so popular has the hostel proved that, despite the acquisition of a large annex, the V.M.C.A. authorities, it is understood, have found it necessary to look round for a second building to provide for |;he rapidly-increasing demand by the soldiers for h,oard and lodging facilities.
