THE OFFICIAL PICTURE.
The official war film, "The Battle of the Ancre," is the first film which has been made the standing military orders. Never before probably in th.c history of the British Army have the officers considered the educational aspect of the cinema film. So impressed, however, were the commanding officers who were present with the members of the Ministry at the private view of the " Battle of the Ancre," with its educational value in instructing men in certain field operations illustrated therein, that every soldier in the Trentham and Peatherston camps was ordered to parade to see these films. In the picture the gun drill of the men and the rapidity with which they fire the huge howitzers is a marvel to anyone witnessing it for the first time, The actual scenes in trench and dug-out are also clearly depicted. li The Battle of the A.ncre,'J recording the advance of the tanks, will be shown at the Lyric Theatre to-day (Thursday) at 2 p.m. .and 8 p.m.
