OBITUARY.

THE LATE MR DAVID DONOVAN It was with deep regret that we an-^ nounced in our last issue the death, atH the age of 62 years,- of Mr Dajgjjfl Donovan, which took' place at his latl^ residence, Helensvilie, on Thursday lastj&Jj August 23rd. • . •' The late Mr David Donovan was a son of the late Mr Patrick Donovan, of Onehunga, at which place deceased was born. He came to Helensville thirty years ago, and was well known and highly respected. He took an active part in the affairs of the town, and for some years held office as a Commissioner on the Helensville Town Board. He also interested himself in politics, and was a staunch supporter of the Ward Government when it was in power. Deceased leaves a widow and six daughters, one brother (in America), and three sisters (Mrs F. Little, Mrs A. McLeod, and Miss Donovan), the latter lady also residing in America.

The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, 25th inst., at 2.30 p.m., when there was a very large and representative attendance of friends and relatives from all parts of the district. The Rev. Father Kelly conducted the service at the graveside.

The undertaking was carried out byMr Becroft in his usual efficient style.
